Business plan for Dom et Vie: example of a study carried out by HJC
In 2021, HEC Junior Conseil carried out four studies for Dom et Vie, proof of a successful loyalty of this company thanks to our services. This interview with our client testifies to the quality of the studies conducted and the added value they brought to Dom et Vie and HEC Junior Conseil.
The study in question: the business plan
During one of these studies, Dom et Vie asked us to review their business plan with a view to raising funds. HEC Junior Conseil focused on the choice of assumptions in order to establish an optimal financial projection over 3 years. The objective was to demonstrate the profitability of moving from a franchise system to owning the sales outlets.
Dom et Vie has been retained by HEC Junior Conseil through previous studies, and this business plan was therefore a natural extension of the work done previously. This study required the HEC Junior Conseil team to have a thorough knowledge of Excel and accounting elements in order to model the benefits of this strategic change, as well as a broad understanding of the underlying issues.
(...) I must say that the experience was a success. Since this first mission, we have requested the HEC JE for new missions but also called upon JEs from engineering schools for R&D missions, proof that the format in general has met our needs.

Interview with our client, whom we thank for answering our questions
HJC: Hello sir. What was the nature of your need when you called us?
DV: We were organizing a fundraising event with investment funds and wanted to be accompanied in order to prepare the deck, the financial elements and the dataroom. When we came into contact with the funds, the scope gradually widened with the preparation of workshops with them as well as the development of the business plan.
HJC: What led you to apply for a Junior Enterprise?
DV: We were in close contact with BPI France, which directed us to a number of junior companies.
HJC: Why ours in particular?
DV: We contacted some of the Top 5 Junior Achievement companies and HEC JUNIOR CONSEIL seduced us by several characteristics: reactivity, immediate understanding of our needs, capacity to deploy resources within 1 week.
HJC: Were you familiar with the world of Junior Enterprises?
DV: No, it was the first time and I must say that the experience was a success. Since this first mission, we have solicited the HEC JE for new missions but also called upon JEs from engineering schools for R&D missions, proof that the format in general has met our needs.
HJC: How visible do you think they are in the corporate world?
DV: With YI, we work with high-potential future graduates who think quickly and execute efficiently while having a strong motivation to learn and to achieve the results set by the client. Because of this format and the multiplication of the missions carried out by the actors of the JE, they have a broad and relevant visibility of the business world.
HJC: What were the strong points of the service offered by HEC Junior Conseil?
DV: The strengths that we remember are: relevance, impact, adaptability, flexibility, problem solving, efficiency.
HJC: Does HEC Junior Conseil leave you with a full impression of professionalism?
DV: Absolutely, we have had the pleasure of hosting three project managers and each time we have dealt with smart and professional people.
HJC: What would you say to a company that is reluctant to sign because of our age or student status?
DV: I would tell them that "value does not wait for the number of years" to quote Pierre Corneille. More concretely, at DOM&VIE, despite the growth of our workforce, we have kept a startup mindset and we are nourished daily by our differences. The mission managers of the JE HEC are brilliant people who carry out strategic missions in different companies of different sizes and this seems to me to be two characteristics that are attractive to companies.
HJC: Would you consider using HJC again?
DV: Yes, we have already done it twice and will most likely do it again in the coming months.
